Windows 2000 Basics : Working with Programs    Navigating a Document

You can also use the following keys on your keyboard to navigate.

First, make sure that the text entry area (the main window) has the program focus. (If it does have the focus, there will be a flashing text entry cursor in the text entry area. To give the text entry area the focus, click on it).

Then you can use the following keys to move through your document:

  • PageDn: Move one page down.
  • PageUp: Move one page up
  • Home: Go to the leftmost side of the current text.
  • End: Go to the rightmost side of the current text.
  • Arrow keys: move the text cursor. If the text cursor is at the edge of the screen the document will be shifted.
