Page 1Most Windows programs have a Help item on the pulldown menu for the program. Here the Help item is shown in Wordpad . Page 2The Help Topics item in the pulldown menu contains information about how to use the program (in this case, Wordpad). Page 3Here Help Topics has been clicked on, and the Help file for Wordpad is showing. Page 4Windows Help files have two panes. The left pane (1) allows you to select a topic. The right pane (2) shows information about the selected topic. Page 5Here the topic Create a bulleted list has been selected in the left pane. The information on this topic is displaying in the right pane. Page 6You can also choose a topic by searching through the index. Here the Index tab has been selected. Page 8The index has automatically moved to an entry for which the first letters match the entered letters. Page 9Double-clicking the highlighted entry has caused the associated information to appear in the right pane. Page 10You can also search through all of the text in the Help file. Page 12List topics has been clicked on, and two entries have been found. Page 13Double-clicking on an item in the left pane causes the associated information to appear. The word that was searched for is highlighted. Page 14You can also see a Help file for Windows 2000 general topics. Click on Start > Help. Page 16As with the Help file for Wordpad, you can select a topic in the left pane, and it will display in the right pane. Page 17You can also bookmark the Windows 2000 help file. Click on the Favorites tag. Page 18Clicking on the Add button will add the currently displayed topic to the list of Favorites. Page 19The topic has been added to the list of Favorites. When you open this Windows 2000 help file again, this item will be listed under Favorites, as it is now. |
