Once you have created a document in Wordpad, you can open a new or existing document.

To open a new document, click File > New.

  Click on the image for page view.

Or, click on the New icon .

The New dialog box appears.

Choose the type of document you want to create. If you aren't sure, choose Word Document .

The new document is started. At this point, you can enter text and continue as shown in the Wordpad tutorial immediately previous to this one.

To open an existing document, click File > Open.

Or click Open icon directly.

The Open dialog box appears.

Select the directory (folder) containing the file you want to open.

Choose the file type of the file you want to open.

If you don't know the file type of the file you want to open, choose Word for Windows (this is the default). If the file still doesn't show, choose All Documents.

The files of the selected type are displayed.

Choose the file you want to open and double-click it or click Open.

The file is opened.
