1   Configure Windows 2000 to display and input Japanese
2   Regional options
3   The Regional Options dialog
4   The Input Locales tab.
5   Click Add
6   Choose Japanese
7   The input locale has been added
8   Japanese has been added to your list of installed input locales
9   Click OK
10   The language selector now appears in your system tray
11   Open wordpad
12   Click on the language icon in your system tray, and choose Japanese
13   The floating IME toolbar appears
14   We select Hiragana Input
15   The icon changes to a hiragana character
16   You can now enter Japanese
17   Spacebar to select kanji
