To create a new Screenbook, click on Screenbook.

Click on New Screenbook .

The New Screenbook dialog opens.

First choose a bookshelf. If you are new to Screenbook Maker, choose  Main Bookshelf .

(A bookshelf is simply a particular collection of screenbooks. Later tutorials will teach you about using other bookshelves.)

Enter:

  1. A Topic
  2. A Subtopic
  3. A Title

These can be anything you like.

You must also enter an author.

While you make your tutorial, you will be taking snapshots of the screen with Screenbook Maker. The clearest snapshot will result if you chose to switch to 640 x 480 resolution while creating your screenbook. (Because the standard image size for a screenbook image is 640 x 480).

Click OK to start creating your tutorial.

Screenbook Maker asks if it is OK to switch to 640 x 480 display resolution. Click OK .

The Screenbook Maker Main window closes, and the Create Tutorial window opens. You can see from the title bar that we are on page 1 of our new tutorial.

We are going to create a tutorial about the Windows Calculator. Type in the text for your first page.

Now, ignoring the Create Tutorial dialog, arrange the screen to match your text.

Click on the Screenshot icon.

  Click on the image for page view.

Screenbook Maker hides the Create Tutorial dialog, takes a screenshot and saves it along with the text you entered, and then restores the Create Tutorial dialog. Now you are on page 2.

Enter some text for page 2, and again arrange the screen to match the text, and again click on the Screenshot icon.

Now you are on page 3. Click the Finish button to finish creating your first screenbook.

The Create Tutorial dialog closes, and the main window reopens. As you can see, your screenbook is displaying in the right pane.
