Screenbook Maker organizes screenbooks into groups called bookshelves.

Bookshelves are collections of screenbooks that share a table of contents, an index, a common format, and share some common files, such as files for icons.

Screenbooks Bookshelves are listed in the left pane of the main window of Screenbook Maker. The icon for a bookshelf is a stack of books.

Each bookshelf (unless it is empty) contains one or more category folders (e.g. "Windows")

Each category folder contains one or more subcategory folders. (e.g. "Applets")

Each subcategory folder contains a folder named Books.

Each Books folder contains one or more Screenbooks. (e.g. The Calculator)

When you make a set of tutorials that are on a related topic, you'll generally want to create a new bookshelf. This allows you to create a separate index and table of contents for your set of tutorials. In the next tutorial, we'll see how to add a new bookshelf.
