Every bookshelf has a format - a set of XSLT files and other resources that determines how the bookshelf output is generated, and therefore how it looks.
You can change the bookshelf template or create new ones. To change the template, select Options from the bookshelf popup menu.

Select Change in the Bookshelf Format area.

The Select Bookshelf Format dialog opens. You can select a new format from the pulldown.

Here we've chosen the ext format. The ext format is based on the ext javascript library and has a number of nice looking effects and features.

Click OK to select the ext format.

This returns us to the Bookshelf Options dialog. Click OK.

You must regenerate all of the books to apply the new format.

Once the books have been regenerated, click OK.

Click on the bookshelf in the left menu, the new bookshelf home page appears in the content pane.
