Screenbooks can be converted to PDF files. Unlike most PDF converters, Screenbook Maker does not convert to PDF by using a printer driver to capture the browser view. This means that only a limited number of HTML formatting in the page text will show in the final output. Links and CSS formatting are not preserved, although FONT and other basic elements are preserved.
One benefit of not using a simple printer driver conversion means that Screenbook Maker is able to build a PDF structurally, including adding a table of contents, section title pages and metadata such as the Screenbook author and copyright information.
Another benefit of not using a printer driver based converter is that full size images can be embedded in the PDF file. Printer driver conversion basically captures what is on the screen. However, when a large image is resized to fit into the PDF viewer on your monitor, it loses detail since the the area on your monitor is not large enough to display all of the pixels of the image. Printers have much higher resolution than monitors. When the PDF file is printed, the full image is available, not just the image viewable on your computer screen.
