A tutorial illustrated with screenshots is the best way to explain how to use computer applications. The free Screenbook Maker program makes it easy to create illustrated computer tutorial ebooks.
Screenbook Maker Pro adds support inserting any JPG or PNG file, making it easy to build picture books of any kind.
Use either Screenbook Maker program to create a book once, and then create multiple versions or formats. Screenbook Maker comes with two HTML formats, and you can easily create your own new formats. You can also convert your ebook to CHM or PDF formats as well.
HTML Format
By default, Screenbook Maker creates ebooks in web format. The default format supports keyboard control, client-side full-text search, thumbnails and other features. Each ebook can be viewed as a series of pages or as one long page. For examples, see the Screenbook Library .
DHTML Format
Another bookshelf format included with Screenbook Maker is the "ext" template, which uses the nifty ext js library to create a nice looking set of books with extra effects and features such as a collapsing table of contents and page title list. For a full example, click here.
CHM Format
CHM files are Windows HTML Help Files - the format used for help files with Microsoft Windows. All of the ebooks in your bookshelf get packed into one convenient file, which includes full text search and print options.
PDF Format (Screenbook Maker Pro)
With Screenbook Maker Pro you can create PDF files for a set of ebooks (a bookshelf) or for a single ebook. Screenbook Maker creates a table of contents and section headers, as well as embedding copyright and author information.
